Little Miss Grace is turning three,
to celebrate we're having a Teddy Bear Tea!

Gracie had 10 guests come to her tea party. At the last minute, we invited the 3 "big" girls from our neighborhood that Grace likes to play with. Her guest list included Georgia, Jackson, Isaiah, Liam, Lexi, Hailey, Logan, Alex and Jillian. Initially we were going to fit all of the kids at the dining room table, but we quickly brought up the small table to accommodate 3 girls (Grace, Hailey and Lexi). I wasn't sure how the "tea" (pink lemonade and peach tea) would go over, but the kids kept wanting more and more tea! "More tea please" was the popular phrase of the day. We also walked around with tea sandwiches, brownies, cinnamon rolls and chocolate covered strawberries. Plenty of sugar!

Grace received so many wonderful gifts from her friends, Isaiah is helping her in picture.

And then the cupcakes! We had a bit of a mishap the night before which we have dubbed the "Cupcake Incident of 2009." David and I picked up the cupcakes from Dierbergs on Friday night, and I did not put them in a safe spot in the car. Between a few sharp turns and accelerations, we lost half of the cupcakes! I was bummed beyond belief, fortunately, only the kids wanted cupcakes so I didn't have to whip out the ruined 18 or so in the fridge!

The big girls proved to be a GREAT help, they organized the kids into some games outdoors to help burn off some sugar. We also played Teddy Bear Freeze, did the Teddy Bear Teddy Bear rhyme, read "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" and then ran around outside towards the end.
Exhausting time, but I think it went really well! Happy 3rd Birthday Grace!
