Day 265

For those that don't know me too well, I am a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan...HUGE. In honor of their big win last night on Monday night football (in their new super cool stadium), I had to post a picture of Jerry and I (I just finally hooked up our scanner, and couldn't resist this photog). Anyway, our first weekend in St. Louis (October 2008), a Thrivent friend Harlan treated us to a football game. I was thinking nosebleed section, but was thrilled because my beloved Cowboys were playing the Rams. I've never seen a Cowboys game live. We show up and get passes that enable us to be ON THE FIELD during warm ups...seriously, I was just feet away from my fellas. I was shaking with giddiness, like a kid at Christmas! As warm ups are ending I find out that we are going to be watching the game in the Owner's Box (that's right, as in the owner of the Rams). We're taking a few last pictures before we head to the box and we see Jerry Jones (owner of the Cowboys) and his 2 bodyguards making their way down the field, so Harlan says, "Erika, stand on the sideline and I'll take your picture with Jerry Jones walking behind you." I stand and pose, and then Jerry Jones breaks away from his posse and comes and puts his arm around me and says nice things that I can't even remember because I couldn't believe this was all happening. Hence the ridiculous look on my face in the photograph. Instead we just gaze into each other's eyes. Ok, David is actually on my other side and Harlan cropped him out because it is way more funny to have me and Jerry gazing at each other. This is a really long post, but needless to say this game in October of 2008 was a DREAM COME TRUE...the Cowboys lost, but it was such an incredible experience!
