Last night we had a pre-birthday celebration for David (Sunday is the big day) before Lee and Jan left for South Dakota. I bought a low carb cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, which has been a huge hit with David for the past few birthdays. The highlight for David was receiving the Michael Burlingame Lincoln Biography (2 volumes) from his parents...I have never seen him so thrilled over a gift! Very cute!

ReplyDeletemy man loves cheesecake, too! And, since it's Lincoln's 200th b-day, Hubby wrote a post about Lincoln: onemantrying.blogspot.com . My favorite book about Lincoln (well, it's really about John W. Booth) is Manhunt. It reads like a thriller/novel but a true story. Check it out at your library - it was on the best selling list the year it came out.
Hi Julie...I looked at your hubby's blog and his book summaries, I am definitely going to check Manhunt out, sounds very interesting. David is a HUGE Lincoln fan, he actually was at the Lincoln library yesterday for the Michael Burlingame lecture on his new Lincoln books and said it was fabulous.
