On Saturday evening we visited the St. Charles Christmas Traditions festival. It is so much fun, there are Christmas characters (i.e. Scrooge, various Santa's from other countries, etc.) dressed up and walking around in character, they hand out collectors cards for the kiddos to collect. I'm not sure what Dave is doing in this picture, but we were trying to Grace to pose with the "Nutcracks" as she calls them (she loves to watch the Nutcrack at Nana and Grandpa's house).
This particular evening was the Las Posadas special event where Mary and Joseph walk through the streets knocking at various doors to find a room. Crowds of people followed with candles, it was really neat. It ended down by the river with a live Nativity scene. I'm so glad Grace was able to see this, it's nice to see the true Christmas story brought to life.
